Honor 6X Full Review – The Mid Budget Phone with Master Specs

This post was written by: admin

It’s over a year now after the successful Honor 5X, comes the updated version, the predecessor, the Honor 6X.

Looking at the past, the Honor 5X has performed pretty damn well, and on a whole was a solid performer one could easily spend on. That smartphone did deliver well overall, and Honor 6X does seem like to take the good name forward. Not taking much of the time, let’s straight get to the review.

The Built

Holding the phone up, you will be really satisfied with the built and and finish of the handset. They have maintained their consistency with the handset compared to the former. It’s metal chassis all over and does feel really good holding it. Though, if you try to flip, the phone does lose hold and can slide. The curves on the side has been gently done and all over, the phone looks damn handsome. The 5.5 inch size has been fairly bordered on the sides which make the phone easy to be used by one hand.

The handset will be sporting an SoC which has been specially developed by the Huawei in house production unit, called the Kirin 655. This SoC will be pouring in a octa core chip, rather a mid ranged one, which would be packing in the all four Cortex A53 CPU. The CPU would core into run at the 2.1GHz clocking down the four companion Cortex A53 cores which would run at the 1.7GHz. It does seem like a mid ranged specs, but that does hold out well. Coming to terms with the graphics, the production is fantastic. It holds ups a Mali T830 GPU and their own Kirin 655 tads to bit on the slower side (roughly 20-25 percent) if directly compared to the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625.

The Honor 6X with the Kirin 655 might not put out a huge figure on the benchmark numbers, but the phone does hold out a class on it’s own and performs with all the ease. The real world performance speaks volume if compared to the benchmark scores. When thrown against heavy games like the Dead Effect 2 or Asphalt 8, the phone had no issues and played smooth with no issues. The EMUI (Honor’s own) ran smooth and had no issues. The phone handles all the multitasking with ease and performs really well on turf. The 2.5GB of RAM was still left to spare after a ton of apps and games were on board, which is awesome.

The most highlighting feature in the Honor 6X, is it’s dual shooter on the back. The primary one has a 12 megapixel sensor with a 2 megapixel sensor below it,. It has a Sony IMX 386 sensor and does support PDAF. The camera has got a wider aperture mode which helps you simulate a range in the aperture between f/0.95 to f/16. You can click some awesome pictures, plus some macro shots with good bokehs.
